Section 1: Introduction and Instructions

Welcome to Federal Stafford Loan Entrance Counseling.

Before your Federal Stafford Loan can disburse, federal regulations require that you complete this process. Borrowing to finance your education is a serious commitment.

Entrance Counseling is designed to ensure that you understand your rights and responsibilities as a Federal Stafford Loan borrower.

This session should take you about 15 minutes to complete. There are 12 screens of information, followed by a quiz. You will be asked to provide some identifying information after the quiz. Once you reach the confirmation page, your Federal Stafford Loan Entrance Counseling requirement will be satisfied. Be sure to print a copy of the confirmation page for your records.

Parents – Please do not complete this session for your son or daughter. The Stafford Loan will be in his/her name and it’s important that your student fully understands this commitment.
