Federal regulations require that all first time borrowers of both Federal Stafford and Federal Graduate PLUS Loans complete entrance counseling before funds can disburse. Click the link above to begin the counseling session. You will need your social security number and federal student aid PIN to log into the entrance counseling session.

Helpful Hints for Completing Entrance Counseling

  • The entrance counseling session takes approximately 30 minutes to complete. You must complete the entire session at one time and cannot return to where you left off. If you do not complete the entire session, you will have to start from the beginning.
  • Disable pop-up blockers prior to starting entrance counseling.
  • In Step Three, you must open the Rights and Responsibilities document, review it, close it, then click "Continue". Once you receive a "Congratulations" message, your entrance counseling session is complete.
  • Graduate Students: Be sure you choose the option to indicate that you are a Graduate student at the beginning of the session. If you do not choose that option, your entrance counseling session will only satisfy the Federal Stafford Loan entrance counseling requirement (not the Graduate PLUS entrance counseling requirement).
