FINANCIAL AID TIPS FOR STUDENTS ENROLLED IN THE TEACHER CERTIFICATION PROGRAM FOR COLLEGE GRADUATES (TCPCG)

APPLY for SUMMER 2018 FINANCIAL AID

    • Students must be officially admitted to the UConn Graduate School before they will be awarded any financial aid.
    • TCPCG students admitted in the summer 2018 term will need to complete a 2017-2018 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) prior to June 30th, 2018. UConn’s school code is 001417.
    • Complete a Summer Financial Aid Application, available for completion in the Student Administration System on March 21, 2018.
    • During the summer sessions, students enrolled in the TCPCG Program may be considered for the following types of financial aid:
      • Federal Direct Stafford Unsubsidized Loan
      • Federal Direct Graduate PLUS Loan
      • Private (Alternative) Loans
    • Students enrolled in the TCPCG program must be registered for a minimum of five (5) credits during the summer to be considered for summer financial aid.
    • The maximum amount of financial aid awarded will be determined by a student’s summer cost of attendance budget. The summer cost of attendance budget includes the direct cost for the actual academic credits for which a student is enrolled, as well as estimated indirect costs (i.e., room, board, books and miscellaneous expenses).

APPLY for FALL 2018 and SPRING 2019 FINANCIAL AID

    • In order to apply for financial aid for fall 2018 and spring 2019, students must complete a 2018-2019 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). UConn’s school code is 001417
    • Students who submit the 2018-2019 FAFSA prior to March 1, 2018 will be considered for the following types of financial aid:
      • Federal Work-Study
      • Federal Direct Stafford Unsubsidized Loan
      • Federal Direct Graduate PLUS Loan
      • Private (Alternative) Loans
    • Students must be enrolled for a minimum of nine (9) credits per semester to be considered for Federal Work-Study. Students must be enrolled for a minimum of five (5) credits per semester to be considered for Federal Direct Stafford Loans.
    • Questions regarding the application process or eligibility requirements should be referred to the Office of Student Financial Aid Services. Students should be sure to identify themselves as being enrolled in the TCPCG Program. A member of the Client Services staff will provide assistance.
