For your financial aid to appear as an anticipated deferral on your fee bill, the following steps must be completed:
Accept/Decline Financial Aid Offer
- Review your financial aid offer and accept or decline the aid you were offered via the Student Administration System.
Submit Required Documentation
- Log in to the Student Administration System and click on the Action List tile to determine which documents may still be required.
Note: Please allow up to 5 to 7 business days for submitted documents to be processed and appear as completed in the Student Administration System.
Complete Loan Documents
- Federal Direct Subsidized and/or Unsubsidized Loan(s)
- If you have accepted a Federal Direct Subsidized and/or Unsubsidized Loan, and you are a first-time borrower, you must complete a Master Promissory Note (MPN) and Loan Entrance Counseling for the Federal Direct Student Loan Program(s).
Note: Please allow up to 1-2 business days for the aid to appear on your fee bill.
- Federal Direct Parent PLUS Loan
- If your parent/guardian is borrowing a Federal Direct PLUS Loan, they must complete the Federal Direct Parent PLUS Loan Application. First-time parent borrowers must also complete a Master Promissory Note (MPN) for the Federal Direct Parent PLUS Loan Program.
Note: Please allow up to 3-4 business days for the aid to appear on your fee bill.
- Federal Direct Graduate/Professional PLUS Loan
- If borrowing a Federal Direct PLUS Loan, you must complete the Federal Direct PLUS Graduate/Professional Loan Application. If you are a first-time borrower, you must complete a Master Promissory Note (MPN) and Loan Entrance Counseling for the Federal Direct Graduate/Professional PLUS Loan Program.
Note: Please allow up to 1-2 business days for the aid to appear on your fee bill.
Send Scholarship Documentation
- Notify the Office of Student Financial Aid Services of any scholarships that you are receiving. Log into the Student Administration System, click on the Financial Aid tile, and select the Outside Aid tab.
- Notify the Office of the Bursar of any scholarship you are receiving by requesting a scholarship deferment and emailing proof of your scholarship award letter to bursar@uconn.edu.
